Weathered Ink

It took me until I was Thirty
to learn to Write Well not
because of lack of skill but
because the storms needed
time to brew within me;
only the can the words rain out

The Sea Knows

The Sea Knows
Davey's bones, Poseidon's throne
Usurped by Neptune while
Mariana is entrenched
And Katrina's fury remains a scar

The Sea Knows
Stories of Titanic hubris and
The old lady Mary Rose,
Guns silent as the Kraken
Held in cold, iron Jaws

The Sea Knows
Because there is such power
Clenched in the names
And titles we have fed her
Since the dawn of tides

And She is not yet Satisfied
